His formal training began in 1985 with the drums and continues today with both traditional and electronic instruments. Coming from a such a diverse musical and cultural background, Seoul cites many different personal influences. As a youngster, Seoul remembers listening to The Wizard's mix shows on WJLB and the Electrifying Mojo on WGPR and credits those as early influences on his style. From the Wizard's lightning fast mixes to the Mojo's diverse selections, Seoul really began to appreciate the responsibilty of the DJ to constantly be working and perfecting his craft. DJ Seoul gives one hundred percent every time he performs and this energy is clearly visible and reciprocated by the audience.

It is a natural fit for him to play the music that he loves. By representing his home town properly and playing Detroit Music, DJ Seoul continues to carry the torch that was handed to him by the greats that came before him. Playing wide assortments of music, from Electro, Techno, Hip-Hop and Soul, to House, Acid and Rare Groove, DJ Seoul has become known for his style of bringing a Hip-Hop Turntablist style of mixing and scratching to his set regardless of genre.

A veteran DJ with more than ten years of experience under his belt; Detroit native, T.Linder has done his homework and paid his dues.
T.Linder takes a no-nonsense, working-class approach to the art of spinning records. He cites old-school Detroit street jocks: The Wizard (aka. Jeff Mills), Gary Chandler, and Steve "DJ Energy" Crawford among others, as major inspirations for his unorthodox aesthetic. "If someone's going to pay money to hear me spin, I'm going to make it worth their money. The way I look at it, there's too many DJs out there meticulously and methodically blending records that all sound the same. As a listener, I'm easily bored with that. I like to take some risks when I perform, skipping across genres and eras, doing scratch tricks with two copies of the same record. I want to give the listener the experience of hearing something they haven't heard before."

Mark Moss was raised outside of St. Louis and discovered electronic music through his Uncle who was getting all the new sounds out of Chicago and Detroit in the late ‘80’s. He began learning to DJ at the tender age of 12 with Acid House and the new rave sounds coming out of Belgium and the UK. During early 1991 Mark discovered what was then known as "breakbeat", which became hardcore and later Jungle. He immediately fell in love with hardcore and the emerging Jungle sounds. Mark's family moved to the Detroit area in 1992 and he began going to parties, noticing a lack of (and hatred of) Jungle in the Detroit scene. Mark then began his mission to aid Detroit in its Jungle deficit and began playing anywhere he could, from parties to houses to radio to retailers such as Urban Outfitters in Ann Arbor. In 1997 8en helped found Kinetics, (the original Detroit Jungle night and crew) and became a rotating resident/ face in the Detroit scene with hundreds of appearances at legendary venues such as the Motor Lounge, Alvin’s, the Blind Pig and the Magic Stick.

Micho aka Detronik is native to Detroit’s underground since the inception of electro. Micho began doing live visual mixing in the early 90’s with his project Inter Animi, one of Detroit’s most innovative Performance Art troops. Starting in the mid 90’s and into the next millennium; Micho formulated a series of installations that integrated electronic visual devices to Detroit’s progressive sound. Eventually Micho started being featured as a regular “VJ” at the world renowned motor lounge creating massive television structures and implementing a surveillance network which would encompass the dj/performer giving a new perspective to the sound. By mid 1996 in the shadow of his media space Critical, deep within the underbelly of Detroit’s eastern market, ascended Detronik. From the blood stained floors and vast tunnels of the vacated slaughterhouse, Micho scavenged an army of recovered televisions and resurrected surveillance cameras from abandoned police precincts to mobilize an aggressive new visionary force. In the late 90’s and early 2000’s Detronik spread its roots as a visual manipulator hijacking television systems and constructing a more formidable visual architecture throughout Metro Detroit’s after hour venues and establishments. Today, Detronik still uses many of the original methods adopted from the early 90’s running a full arsenal of surveillance cameras while mixing images live. Micho’s mixes are vengeful and aggressive, a blatant assault for the viewer, completing the sensory experience with lo-fidelity, contrast, and bleak imagery of a mediated reality and Detroit’s underworld.

DJ Psycho (Dezi Magby) has been repping the streets for the last 25 years of his life, dedicating himself to the art of not only rocking the crowd, but making a mix that is as complex as his interests. Mike Banks (UR) himself said, after seeing him for the first time, “Look at him! Just look at him! He truly doesn’t give a fuck! Records don’t make him. He makes THEM do what he wants them to do!” He’s been referenced as being “the split difference between The Wizard and The Tazmanian Devil”.His live mixes cross boundaries and genres effortlessly, and his mixes on CD go beyond simply beatmatching records – they tell stories. Being a DJ is not so much how he makes a living as it is how he lives. At this stage in the game, he still practices 3-5 hours daily with no breaks.

Psycho took to the turntables after watching Grandmaster Flash on MTV in 1981. He had already been taking up guitar, piano and percussion, so the musical aspect was already there. He also had uncles in Detroit and Pontiac who introduced him to the game, and by 1983, their training paid off when he started DJing junior high and high school dances. He had co-founded a band the same year, Your’z Truly, playing guitar on stage and various instruments in the studio. In 1987, he met Kevin Klida (DJ Max Jerome), who ended up helping him secure his very first club gig at The Mikatam in Genesee, MI. After that first taste of notoriety, he started smashing everything in sight, touring alongside Digital Underground, Ice Cube and Naughty By Nature, getting his own mix show on local radio station WWCK-105 fm, and procuring the Midwest DMC finals championships 3 years running.

Born on the East Side of Detroit in January of 1979, but shortly thereafter relocated to the western suburbs of the Motorcity Todd Weston takes pride in what he calls his “Suburban Soul”. He accredits his mother, father and grandfather as the primary roots of his musical influence. As a child he grew up listening to the sounds of Motown legends like The Temptations, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye. At 3 years old, he was often found sitting back with his grandfather, listening to the sounds of Art Blakey, Cal Tjader, and Ahmad Jamal, all the while playing along on percussion.

This passion for the music and most notably, the drums, led Todd on to appreciate a multitude of musical genres while growing up. However, it wasn’t until age 16 that he was personally introduced to the electronic sound Detroit had to offer at the infamous St. Andrew’s Hall. From that point on, it was off to the many Detroit after-hours parties with a clear mind and open ear to get his fix of the music.

A late bloomer, "The Vandal" was a student in the classroom of many talented local acts. He observed for years some of the finest acts that Detroit has had to offer from all genres. Nowadays, reflecting back on the insight that others have kindly shared, he is enjoying his own journey thru the various moods of music that techno provides. A true "In it for the love of it" individual, he falls in line like other diehards locally that believe that Detroit is still a very special aptmosphere to behold and cherish. Most of all, he calls the darker soundbank of synths and melodies in combination with aggressive basslines and percussion his true love.
