?CONFUSION? has been constantly surrounded by underground music of all genres. Beginning with his mother who was a “Disco Queen”. From birth he was exposed to artists such as James Brown, The Commodores, KC and the Sunshine Band, and many more artists considered to be soul or Dance Music.

His father was also a fan of Soul and dance music but also introduced him to a more extreme type of music. With Vinyl and 8 tracks of artists such as Led Zepplin, Iron Butterfly, and Black Sabbath still set in his studio to this day. The two extremes of music offered by his parents would begin to influence ?CONFUSION? to the point where he set out to be involved in every aspect of music possible.

?CONFUSION? began at the early age of 13 searching for the perfect mix of both musical styles. ?CONFUSION? began studying artists such as Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, and Nine Inch Nails wich eventully lead him to form a band of his own. Armed with wonderful friends, musicians, a microphone and a few pieces of electronic hardware he helped form a very successful underground theatrical Metal/Hardcore group called MODIF in 2002. From 2002 to 2006 he pushed relentlessly to “pay dues” and climb the ladder in the local and international metal/hardcore scene. ?CONFUSION? promoted, managed, booked, and routed tours for his beloved band.

Justin Hand, with 22+ years behind the decks from coast to coast and multiple international performances, he is not only an early pioneer of the Memphis scene but also a leader in its dance movement. Justin’s background in music and ability to flow from style to style, while keeping a packed floor came from his early years beginning at the age of 12 playing Top40 and 80’s dance hits to his peers. Justin’s career rocketed away after such an early head start which secured him a permanent place in the mid-south nightclub industry. His love for Techno and his skills at the decks have earned him a name but his diverse style keeps him consistently rocking dance floors nationwide. Depending on the night and event, his eclectic music and crowd-devastating mixes can range from 1 to 9 hour non-stop sets. His last Saturday night residency was a mind-blowing, 6 hour energy packed mix of “fist pumping / hands-in-the-air” madness.

It was this display of skill and talent that Mr. Hand was able to earn two residencies, while living in Chicago, at the legendary Red No. 5 and Big Wig while supporting some of the hottest acts to grace the US. It is no surprise he has been invited to perform alongside some of the most sought after North American tours in the industry; with djs and live acts such as Young American Primitive, Crystal Method, Rabbit in the Moon, Carl Cox, John Selway, Cari Lekebusch, Marco Carola, Dj Hell, Frankie Bones, Dj Dan,Alexi Delano and many many more.

Justin Hand has stepped away from his regular club residencies to devote time to touring nationally and abroad as well as expanding his latest creation, LFORADIO, a 24 hour all electronic internet radio station, which is now approaching its 5 year anniversary. Through hard work and devotion to bringing great dance music to the masses, he has brought some of the freshest talent head to head with world renowned djs, in one place for the world to enjoy.

This impressive repertoire, love for the music, and pursuit of new avenues for inspiration put Justin on the forefront of the Electronic Dance community. No time soon will the dance floors cease to hear the sounds of Justin Hand. After 22 years with headphones on, some would say it’s just starting.
