Matthew Legend is the guise of Jason Bolles, a veteran dj with over a decade of experience behind the decks. Originally from Toledo, he was first introduced to the sounds of house and techno in the mid 90?s by the events at the now historic Packard Plant and 1315 Broadway in Detroit. During this time he became involved in the underground scene in Toledo promoting and djing for Frankies, In-The-Mix, Tonic, Club 128/BPM and began playing a plethora of various events and clubs across the mid-west throughout the next several years. In 2001 he was the runner-up in URB Magazines national dj mix competition, which he followed up with FutureShock, a dance music mix show on 88.3 WXUT, that featured local and regional djs live on-air.
To further his quest for knowledge, in 2003 he moved to Orlando where he attended Full Sail and received an Associates Degree in Audio Engineering with a minor in Entertainment Business. He then returned home, this time residing in downtown Detroit, where he completed a short internship at Harmony Park Recording Studios before again moving back south, this time to Miami. After only a few short months there he had already locked down a weekly Friday night residency in South Beach and began playing a diverse array of clubs throughout the city. Late in the fall of 2007 he left the warm sunny beaches of Miami to the snow covered landscape of Indianapolis for a short stint before returning home to Toledo in the spring of 2008. Matthew has been exposed to dance music culture all across the United States and his passion for music and highly touted skills have granted him the opportunity to hold residencies at various clubs nationwide, playing alongside some of the biggest names in the industry and remaining a solid purveyor of dance music culture today |
